Gansevoort Project Group Told to Think Big and Crazy

Chelsea Now | Chelsea and West Village residents recently brainstormed ideas about motor and pedestrian safety in the Meatpacking District in a session held by the area’s newest community group, the Greater Gansevoort Urban Improvement Project. The group has gained momentum in the wake of several pedestrian fatalities, as remnants of the wholesale meat industry give way to nightlife, high-end retailing, art galleries and the proposed opening of the High Line’s southern end.
